Runway 09-27 Rehabilitation Electrical Works

Qualified Airfield Electrical Contractors are hereby invited to submit a proposal to undertake the Airfield Electrical Portion of the Runway 09-27 Rehabilitation Project at the FREDERICTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. Proposals, on supplied forms, will be received electronically through Merx until 2:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday, February 04, 2026.
Bidders are advised that, in addition to price, Tenders will be evaluated by the Owner on the basis of non-cost selection criteria (experience, key personnel/resources and methodology) as outlined in the RFP requirements.
Plans, and specifications for this RFP may be obtained from www.Merx.com RFP documents are available as of January 14, 2026 for the Runway 09-27 Rehabilitation Project, Contract No. YFC2026-0001.
RFP Closing Date: Wednesday, February 04, 2026, AT 2:00 P.M. LOCAL TIME.
The lowest or any Proposal will not necessarily be accepted. Proposals submitted will be opened privately. All inquiries and questions should be referred to the following persons. The deadline for questions is Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. local time.

The works proposed under this proposal generally include:
- Remove and salvage existing Runway 09-27 edelights, PAPIs, Windsocks, approach lighting and airfield guidance signs.
- Remove and dispose off-site existing obsolete cabling, conduits, pullpits, edgelight stakes, and approach light towers.
- Turn-over to the owner all salvaged fixtures.
- Supply and install elevated airfield edgelighting equipment complete with new mounting stakes, new primary cabling in existing conduit, secondary conduit/cable, pullpits, retro-reflective rods and all accessories.
- Supply and install new complete inset light assemblies including base can bottom sections, top sections, adjustment rings, snow plow rings, fixtures and all accessories.
- Supply and install new PAPI fixtures on existing foundations complete with transition plates, pullpits, new primary cabling in existing conduit and all accessories.
- Supply and install new windsocks on existing foundations complete with transition plates, pullpits, new primary cabling in existing conduit and all accessories.
- Supply and install new RTIL fixtures on existing foundations complete with transition plats, pullpits, new primary cabling in existing conduit and all accessories.
- Supply and install new SSALR fixtures with new towers on existing foundations complete with pullpits, transformer enclosures, new cabling, conduit and all accessories.
- Provide all trenching, concrete encasement, backfill, and compaction associated with the airfield lighting equipment installation.
- Provide all pavement coring, excavation and concrete encasement associated with the inset lighting equipment.
- Supply and install airfield lighting power and control equipment in the Field Electrical Centre.
- Provide all related electrical enclosures, chambers, pullpits, cabling, raceways and connections.
- Provide temporary connections and work as necessary to accommodate the construction sequencing plans and maintain the operation of airfield lighting systems outside of the defined Work Areas.
- Provide all other related work as specified and indicated on the Drawings and in the Specifications.
