The successful bidders will have a solid background in English-language copy-editing, preferably with 5 or more years of experience editing medical, scientific, or pharmaceutical material. Memberships to the Editors’ Association of Canada or the American Medical Writers Association are assets, as is a Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS) certification.
The documents to be copy-edited will primarily be clinical, ethics, and pharmacoeconomic reimbursement reviews produced by Canada's Drug Agency. The editing efforts will be applied to body text, tables, and figures.

Successful bidders will be expected to edit according to the CDA-AMC style guide, the Canadian Oxford Dictionary, AMA Manual of Style, and Dorland’s Medical Dictionary. Knowledge of terminology related to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility is an asset. High-quality editing in tracked changes will be required, with firm deadlines.
