704-SWM.SASK03041-01 - Churchbridge Landfill Closure

The Town of Churchbridge (“the Owner”) requests a tender for construction of the Churchbridge Landfill Closure and associated works. The Churchbridge Landfill is approximately 1.6 km northeast of Churchbridge, Saskatchewan on Legal Subdivision 4 Section 29 Township 22 Range 32 West of the First Meridian (LSD 4-29-22-32-W1).

The work generally involves, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:

• Mobilization and demobilization including transporting equipment to and from site, constructing and reclaiming any haul roads required during construction, obtaining permits, erecting temporary facilities, and providing a safety program;
• Reshaping, cut/fill, and grading the Historical Household Waste piles to required grades and lines;
• Relocation of concrete from the two concrete piles to the Main Waste Mound (Concrete Piles #2 and #3);
• Reshaping, cut/fill, and grading the Main Waste Mound to required grades and lines;
• Constructing a perimeter drain around the Main Waste Mound to drain run-off to adjacent sloughs;
• Incorporation of select waste concrete from stockpiles as riprap at the outflow of the two perimeter drains;
• Provisional Option A - Clearing and stripping of on site borrow area;
• Provisional Option A - Excavation of clay and subsoil materials from on-site borrow area;
• Provisional Option B - Import to site suitable clay barrier, subsoil and topsoil materials to supplement required material volumes as needed;
• Constructing a 600 mm thick (minimum) engineered clay cap to Main Waste Mount and Historical Household Waste Pile with suitable material from on-site borrow area or imported material if necessary;
• Finishing to top of clay liner surface;
• Placement of 350 mm of subsoil above the clay cap with suitable material from the on-site borrow area or imported material if necessary;
• Placement of up to 200 mm of topsoil above subsoil with suitable imported material;
• Provisional Option A - Reclamation of the borrow area, replace stripped topsoil, and seeding;
• Seeding of Cap and Ditching Area (all topsoiled areas); and
• Surveying, as required prior to construction and following completion of all portions of the Work, which must include a detailed as‑built geodetic survey of the entire Work area and all the Work performed including the base of clay liner and top of clay liner. To be provided to and approved by Engineer as construction progresses.
