The Ottawa Hospital is seeking proposals for the purchase and installation of a Confocal microscope for visualizing epigenomics in real time, including post-warranty support and maintenance for the selected system. This instrument is intended to augment the cell imaging capabilities of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI).
The proposal should include any software needed to support the use of the instrument. Vendors are invited to include additional relevant software in their proposals to support advanced imaging methods and capabilities.
It is the vendor’s responsibility to obtain the required understanding to address the requirements of this RFP and to demonstrate their level of expertise in the technology sought to provide the hardware, software and after-sales support of this equipment.
An automated, high-throughput storage system for more than 2,000 2D barcoded microplates with the flexibility to also store 2D barcoded tubes and vials in a temperature-controlled, inert environment (-20ºC) which will protect and store our current and future investments in highly characterized parental and daughter chemical libraries.
The source of funding for this instrument is the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI).
The CFI is an independent corporation created in 1997 by the Government of Canada to fund research infrastructure. The CFI's mandate is to strengthen the capacity of Canadian universities, colleges, research hospitals, and non-profit research institutions to carry out world- class research and technology development projects that benefit Canadians.
The CFI funds up to 40% of a project's infrastructure costs which are invested in partnership with eligible institutions and their funding partners from the public sectors. In Ontario, the Ministry of Research and generally matches the 40% of the CFI funding. The remaining 20% or more is provided by the institution and/or the private sectors on a voluntary basis.
