The Ottawa Hospital Foundation is seeking proposals from professional Dance Studios to support one of its signature fundraising special events - Dancing with the Docs Gala - in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this Request for Proposal (RFP). The proposal received will be evaluated based upon track record of the company, cost, strategic approach, services offered and best fit to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation’s values. The selected company will be awarded a two year professional services contract.
Purpose:
Reporting to and in collaboration with the Director, Special Events and the Vice President, Development & Corporate Philanthropy to provide appropriate professional male/female dance partners who will be partnered with one of our eight (8) participating doctors from The Ottawa Hospital who will perform a dance routine during the Gala event in support of The Ottawa Hospital.
The Event:
Dancing with the Docs Gala is an evening filled with fundraising, dancing, music and exciting competition as our eight (8) doctors perform their dance routines for an audience of more than 700 guests. Each participant from The Ottawa Hospital is paired with professional dancers from our selected Dance Studio. The Docs train to compete with the hope of winning the coveted “Medicine Ball” which is based on their level of fundraising and the scores they receive from our celebrity judges at the event.
Funds raised as part of Dancing with the Docs support fundraising priorities at The Ottawa Hospital. Each participant can designate their fundraising to an approved fundraising priority that means the most to them, and their patients.
Planning for the event begins mid-summer and through the Fall. Participants train with their assigned professional dance partners from approximately January-March in preparation for their performance at the Gala event in early April at the Hilton Lac-Leamy.
