Capital City Events is seeking proposals from experienced event management companies to organize and manage a vibrant busker festival over Labour Day weekend in Charlottetown, September 1 - 4. The festival aims to celebrate the captivating world of street performances and may encompass an array of artistic expressions, including music, art installations, and culturally rich performances.
The chosen event management company will be responsible for the overall organization, coordination, and execution of the festival.
The event management company will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Develop and apply for funding asks to various municipal, provincial and federal partners, including creating an overall budget
- Develop and solicit corporate sponsorship opportunities.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive event plan that includes the festival schedule, busker selection process, marketing plan, and safety plan.
- Onsite management of multiple busker pitches. Envision (3) various busker / performances pitches throughout downtown and the waterfront.
- Recruit, manage and coordinate all buskers, vendors, and volunteers for the event.
- Coordinate with local businesses and government agencies to ensure smooth operations during the festival.
- Develop and manage a budget for the festival, including negotiating vendor contracts, managing expenses, and tracking revenue.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan to promote the festival, including social media, traditional advertising, digital and public relations.
- Ensure that all necessary permits and insurance are obtained for the festival.
