The Township of Georgian Bay is a lower tier municipality in the District of Muskoka. As such, it delivers planning, parks, libraries, roads, limited social services and other ancillary services.
In 2019, The Township of Georgian Bay had a consultant prepare a 5 year Information Technology Strategic Plan (ITSP). This was the Township’s first ITSP and the objective was to create a platform for innovative and progressive business process improvements.
The report concluded that given the current state and Township imperatives there are nine strategic priorities IT needs to focus on:
1. Replace Quest vWorkspace
2. Modernize the Township’s Technology
3. Conduct a Security Assessment
4. Upgrade to MS Office 365
5. Implement Demand Management Practices
6. Implement Project Management Practices
7. Improve Workforce Mobility
8. Modernize the Township’s applications
9. Investigate alternative IT infrastructure model (considering cloud adoption)

The Township is operating with just one Full Time Employee in IT.
The Township of Georgian Bay is inviting proposals from Information Technology service providers with a variety of Subject Matter Experts.
The requirements of the proposal are outlined in 2.2 SCOPE OF WORK. Firms may bid on 2.2.1 - Replace Quest vWorkspace – User Environment or 2.2.2 - Upgrade to MS Office 365 or both. Firms may submit more than one solution for either requests.
