GENERAL:
The Research Facilities Department at the University Health Network is issuing this ACAN and will administer the ACAN procedure set forth herein for the benefit of University Health Network (the “Hospital”).
The Hospital intends to award the contract to CellScale for the purchase of one (1) micro-scale mechanical test system, with standard 1 year manufacturer’s warranty and 4 years extended warranty. The purchase will also include shipping, installation and training for end users.
BACKGROUND DETAILS:
The Hospital intends to purchase the MicroTester G2 system from CellScale. The MicroTester G2 system is a commercial product that will be used for research purposes. The system is able to measure the contractile strength and elasticity of the cultured cardiac or vascular tissues/organoids as well as that of any biomaterials engineered to act as scaffolding. This is an integrated single-piece unit that requires a small benchtop footprint.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
The supplier must be able to provide the equipment with fully functional capabilities as soon as possible. The proposed equipment must also meet all the mandatory requirements below:
The system must be able to sit on a standard laboratory bench and have dimensions ≤(75 cm W x 30 cm D x 50 cm H) and a weight ≤20 kg.
The system must be capable of compression, tension, bending, indentation and shear test modes.
The system must have clearly defined force and spatial resolution values.
The system must have a range of force capacity and available transducers.
The system must have a clearly defined force accuracy based on percentage of the transducer capacity.
The system must have an integrated imaging system.
The system must have an integrated temperature-controlled fluid bath.
The system must include software for real-time feedback and post-test data analysis.
Equipment must be CSA (or equivalent) approved. Full list of equivalent certifications can be found here: http://www.esasafe.com/electricalproducts/marks
Equipment must operate at 115V (NEMA 5-15).
The standard manufacturer’s warranty coverage must be at least one (1) year or more as defined by the manufacturer. Coverage must include: on-site warranty services which include parts, labour, travel expenses.
