DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
 Title:  Request for Proposals for the Supply and Installation of an Air Compressor and Dryer in the Science Research Building   
Description:
  The Facilities Management Department at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC), has issued a Request for Proposal for the supply and installation of a new 50 HP oil free air compressor and dryer in the Science Research Building at the University of Toronto Scarborough at 1265 Military Trail, Toronto, ON, Canada, M1C 1A4.
 Scope of Work Highlights:

• Receive air compressor on site and transport to mechanical room
• Disconnect section of exhaust ducting to bring in equipment if required
• Reconnect section of exhaust ducting once equipment is the space
• Place equipment on 4” thick concrete pads
• Install all new pipes as required using stainless steel
• Piping to be welded where possible
• Connect drains from equipment to nearby drain line
• Install exhaust ducting from new air compressor to existing fan
• Install  two motorized damper with an end switch to ensure air compressor only starts once ducting is routed correctly.
• Allowance for one after hours shutdown to connect new compressor lines if required
• TSSA new install application a drawing will need to be submitted and approved prior tostarting project. The final testing and certification should be provided to the University of Toronto Scarborough.
  • • Siemens Canada shall be carried for configuring the controls to the Building Automation System (BAS).
• Reuse existing feed to existing 100hp compressor in the Science Research Building  mechanical room. The existing feed is to be disconnected electrically.
• Installation of a new junction box in ceiling space to accommodate splice into the  existing feed.
• Run approximately 150 feet of Electric Metallic Tubing (EMT) and #3 copper (CU) conductors from the junction box to the  new compressor location.
• Supply and installation of a  new local disconnect at new compressor location.
• Wire compressor transformer supplied with the compressor.
• Run new conduit and wire from local 120/208v panel to new dryer location. (208v 15a 1 phase).
• Supply breaker for the above.
• Supply and installation of a  local toggle disconnect at the dryer location.
• All the electrical work to be Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) approved and certification is required
