Description

Waterloo EDC is seeking a seasoned consultant with sector-related expertise and knowledge of Waterloo Region’s technology and manufacturing ecosystems to conduct comprehensive research about Waterloo Region’s strengths and expertise within the robotics and automation cluster.

The primary objective of the project is to gather information about the robotics and automation cluster including number of businesses in each, specialization of each of the businesses and the areas of expertise, size/number of employees, location and primary sector. Furthermore, the objective of the “Robotics and Automation Cluster Map” project is to (1) define the robotics and automation cluster within Waterloo, (2) identify all of the companies working within the robotics and automation cluster and (3) categorize the companies into target audience appropriate sub-cluster categories (i.e. software integration, robots and autonomous robots, PLC programming, etc.).

Proposals must be received by 4:00 PM EST on the closing date of Monday, February 3, 2020. Submissions must be delivered electronically in Adobe PDF format to:

Please note that proposals that are not received on time will not be considered. Proposals must include the following:
a) An overview of the overall understanding of the project, its objectives, deliverables and timeframe;
b) The members of the Proponent team, their relevant experience and their role in the project;
c) A detailed work plan in order to achieve the deliverables within the required timeframe;
d) A listing of similar projects undertaken by the team in the last five (5) years;
e) Two references that may be contacted; and,
f) Total price, inclusive of taxes and expenses.
