DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
GAS LEAK SURVEY - SOUTHERN MANITOBA
The Work shall consist in all that is required for the provision of Gas Leak Detection Survey Services at various locations within southern Manitoba, consisting of but not limited to the following:
ITEM 1 Gas Leak Detection Surveys of Mains and Services
ITEM 1 surveys shall done yearly between May 1 and October 31 and shall cover one quarter (1/4) of the total franchise area, which is approximately 64,029 services and associated mains, along Manitoba Hydro's distribution pipeline system.
ITEM 2 Gas Leak Detection Surveys of Mains and services – Steel with
Elevated Leak Frequency (STELF)
ITEM 2 surveys shall be done annually between May 1 and October 31 and shall cover natural gas steel networks that have an elevated leak frequency that are located within close proximity of the city of Winnipeg which has approximately 15,000 services and associated mains along Manitoba Hydro’s distribution system.
ITEM 3 Gas Leak Detection Survey of Transmission and High Pressure Gas Lines
ITEM 3 surveys shall be done annually between May 1 and June 30 and shall consists of leak detection services and encroachment survey along approximately 2,200 km of Manitoba Hydro’s transmission and high pressure gas pipelines.
ITEM 4 Wall To Wall Gas Leak Detection Surveys
ITEM 4 surveys shall be done 3 times annually and includes but are not limited to three wall to wall leak detection of mains, services, and approximately 2,400 buildings, as follows:
4.1 Survey 4.1 outside survey April 1st to May 31st
4.2 Survey 4.2 outside survey June 1st to July 31st
4.3 Survey 4.3 outside and inside survey August 1st to October 31st.
ITEM 5 Special Gas Leak Detection Surveys
ITEM 5 is for on-call special leak surveys required to be done as‑and-when required by Manitoba Hydro, in various southern Manitoba locations. This may include distribution mains and services, transmission and high pressure gas pipelines.
The leak surveys for ITEMS 1, 2, 3 and 4 shall be conducted in areas only after frost has left the ground and shall be completed before October 31st of each year.
The leak surveys of the mains, services and buildings for ITEM 4 shall be completed yearly in accordance with Wall to Wall Leak Survey Procedure 5.000.25, see Appendix A.
Descriptions of ITEMS of the Work listed above are provided as a general overview. A detailed scope and requirements of the Work are provided in the Technical Requirements. The Work and any ITEM forming part of the Work shall also, in all respects, comply with the terms and conditions of the Contract.
