Description

Manitoba Hydro will only consider responses submitted by a Qualified Supplier with an effective Framework Agreement for Engineering Services for the following:

Service category 21 - Weld Engineering

Project Requirements - Scope of Work:

Act as a Division 2 company Welding Engineer including duties and documentation in accordance with the requirements of CSA W47.1 and W47.2. At a minimum, the welding engineer will provide the following as requested by the Manitoba Hydro designated team and/or as dictated by the Code:

Act as a Division 2 company Welding Engineer and provide report (Engineer Report) to document visits at all certified Manitoba Hydro facilities (typically once every 3 months). Current certified Manitoba Hydro facilities include:
- - Great Falls Generating Station Shop
  - Jenpeg Generating Station Shop
  - Limestone Generating Station Shop

To address resourcing requirements for work at all facilities (including the above 3), Manitoba Hydro may request certification of other facilities or withdraw certification of current approved facilities. The above approved facilities are therefore subject to change.

Support during biannual audits by the Canadian Welding Bureau at all certified Manitoba Hydro facilities. The support includes all work required to facilitate the audit and resolving any CWB identified non-conformances or corrective actions.
Support in the development and qualification through the Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) process of welding procedures (WPS and WPDS) required for specific welding operations at various Manitoba Hydro facilities.
Support in the revision and qualification through the PQR process of existing welding procedures to be used by Manitoba Hydro welding personnel.
Support in the review, validation and revision of welding procedures and specification to be used for Manitoba Hydro work.
The Weld Engineer is required to participate in an on-ramping exercise, which includes documentation processing to be recognized as the Manitoba Hydro Weld Engineer and familiarization with current practices comprising of manuals, reports, WPS, WPDS, letter of validations and scope of work, and certified shops and auditing requirements.
The qualified service provider will provide administrative updates at least monthly to the Manitoba Hydro designated team including supplying email reports, progress updates of all tasks, invested hours tracking etc.

The Manitoba Hydro designated team includes one of the following:

Generation Maintenance and Operations Support – Compliance and Maintenance Program Section.
Generation Design – Mechanical Engineering Section.

Manitoba Hydro will assign work based on operational requirements for scope items 2 to 6.

The Service Release Order is for one-year term from execution.
