SCOPE OF THE WORK:
Manitoba Hydro manages approximately 2,400 electric hot water tank rentals in various residential and commercial buildings within the City of Winnipeg. Customer’s of Manitoba Hydro rent the electric water heater from the Corporation via a monthly charge on their energy bill. Below is an approximate breakdown of the rental portfolio:
(a)40 gallon water heaters – 62%
(b)60 gallon water heaters – 30%
(c)100 gallon water heaters – 8%
Since 2011 Manitoba Hydro is no longer replacing the electric water tank rentals. When an electric hot water tank leaks or is deemed not repairable the customer must purchase and install their own water heater from a retailer of their choice.
The Work shall consist in the supply of all that is required for the testing, supply, delivery, and installation of water tank components (i.e. heating elements, pressure relief valves, upper and lower thermostats, miscellaneous wiring, electrical breakers, etc.) and related Work to service the Purchaser’s electric water heater rental portfolio.
The Work shall be scheduled and performed as per communications from the Purchaser, based on the requirements of the Customer.
The Contractor shall be capable of providing competent electrical advice if there is a problem with the Customer’s wiring.
The Contractor shall keep reasonable levels of maintenance materials on hand in order to ensure multiple service calls are not necessary. Any repeat service calls to the same address will be reviewed and subject to approval by the Purchaser.
