X31468 - FLOOD RESPONSE - Construct/Remove Dike Closures Vicinity of Niverville

The Work of this Non-Bonded Tender No.: X31468 is generally described below:
 
The work in this Non Bonded Tender is part of the Province’s spring flood fighting efforts and mainly consists of the construction and removal of clay closures at the openings of the permanent flood protection dike surrounding Niverville, MB.  Due to the nature of spring runoff, the exact extent and timing of the work is unknown.  Manitoba Infrastructure will make every effort to ensure maximising the time period during which important commerce routes on highways remain open, while not compromising the safe and effective closure of such ring dikes. 
 
The quantities provided in the Price Form are estimates only, based on previous experience and the flood forecast available at the time of preparing this Non Bonded Tender.  There is no guarantee of quantities.  Should dike closures not be required, no payment will be made.
 
The Contractor shall provide equipment able to complete the following work activities as required and as directed by the Engineer, including but not limited to:

• Excavate, load, haul and place borrow material
• Maintenance and stand-by response for dike work
• Removal of placed borrow material and site clean up
• Traffic Control
