Description

The War Lake First Nation is calling for tenders for construction of a 180 m long water control structure (dam) about 15 km southwest of the community (Ilford) adjacent to the winter road network. The dam is along the southern edge of Moose Nose Lake (Zone 15V, 326823 m E, 6214317 m N). The work is to be completed over the remainder of this winter (2020) while the winter road is open, with site restoration works occurring in the summer of 2020.
Primary work items include:

Common excavation within the dam footprint (about 4,000 cu.m)
Supply and place non-woven geotextile along the prepared subgrade (about 4,500 sq.m)
Produce, haul and place 19mm down crushed rockfill core materials (about 9,000 tonnes)
Produce, haul and place 19mm to 75 mm clean crushed rockfill shell materials (about 3,000 tonnes)
Produce, haul and place 450 mm rock riprap (about 3,000 tonnes)
Site restoration (using topsoil, seed, and erosion control blankets)

A Manitoba Sustainable Development Work Permit has been obtained by Indigenous Services Canada for the project. An existing quarry that was used for surface works at the Ilford airport is located approximately 5.4 km east of the project site along the winter road. A Casual Quarry Permit application has been submitted for this site by War Lake First Nation for the project. The Contractor may choose to use this quarry, or obtain necessary permits for another location within the Work Permit area.
Tenders will be opened immediately following bid closing and read at TREK’s office in Winnipeg. A Bid Security in the amount of at least ten percent (10%) of Total Bid Price shall accompany the tender, along with a Consent of Surety stating that the surety is willing to supply a performance bond as specified in the tender. Contract security and bid bonds will be required by the successful bidder as outlined in the tender.
Substantial completion is to be achieved by March 1, 2020

Bidder shall review the submission requirements within the tender.

The lowest or any tender may not necessarily be accepted.
