Sandy Lake First Nation is a large, remote First Nation. It is located within the Kenora District along the Severn River, approximately 450 km northeast of Winnipeg, MB and 600 km northwest of Thunder Bay, ON.
The main objective of this project is to design a new Child, Youth and Family Centre Building (Mamow Weecheewaywin Child, Youth and Family Building) which will meet the needs of Sandy Lake First Nation Community. The Design Consultant will be responsible for the design, tendering (provisional), contract administration (provisional), and site inspections (provisional) that will occur throughout the duration of this project.
Currently service providers need to book space in the High School or the Youth Centre to engage families and host activities. The new Mamow Weecheewaywin Child, Youth and Family Building will bring the community together and support, empower and uplift community members and families for years to come.
Sandy Lake First Nation have taken the first steps to identify and select a location for the new Mamow Weecheewaywin Child, Youth and Family Building.
