Description

Paul First Nation is seeking bids from General Contractors interested in constructing a fire hall in their community. Paul First Nation is located near Duffield, Alberta, approximately 65 km west of Edmonton. Funding for this project will be provided by Indigenous Services formerly known as Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC). Interested Bidders shall note that construction of the building must be suitable for occupancy no later than March 31, 2017.

The Project Management Team (PMT) includes representatives of the Owner (Paul First Nation), the funding agency (Indigenous Services and the Consultant (Neegan Burnside Ltd.).

Interested Bidders, including their respective subcontractors, must have successfully completed a minimum of two (2) relevant projects within the previous five (5) years (ie: commercial/institutional building with a minimum floor area and construction cost as the proposed fire hall).

The Project will include the construction of the following works:

Continuous Flight Augur (CFA) piles for foundation support;
Construction of a two bay fire hall complete with staff training room, kitchenette, storage rooms and kitchenette (total area approximately 315 square meters); and
Site services and utilities including driveway and parking area.

A mandatory pre-bidder’s site meeting is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (Mountain Daylight Time) on Tuesday September 12, 2017. Details regarding the meeting location is provided in the Bid Documents.
A copy of the Bid Documents can be obtained from the MERX Distribution Unit, telephone 1-800-964-6379 or via the internet at www.merx.com. MERX is the official and sole distributor of the Bid Documents including any addenda. If a Bidder obtains the Bid Documents by means other than through MERX, the accuracy of the document and the receipt of any addenda, if applicable, are not guaranteed.

Bids must be received at the address indicated in the Bid Document no later than 1:00 p.m. (Mountain Daylight Time) on September 19, 2017.

At the discretion of the PMT, the lowest Bid Price, or any Bid will not necessarily be accepted.
