1000223421 - Enhanced LTBI Screening Initiative for Migrants in Quebec (1000223421)

The Enhanced Latent Tuberculosis Infection (LBTI) Screening Initiative for Migrants requires collaboration between Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), and a Supplier to carry out project activities in the province of Quebec. This project aims to enhance screening of LTBI in high-risk migrant populations (based on five specific high-risk conditions). The results of this initiative will allow for the assessment of the effectiveness of current migrant TB screening and detection practices with respect to the LTBI cascade of care post landing.

Project objectives include:

1) Assess and describe the enhancement of pre-migration LTBI screening of a high TB-risk population and the post-arrival public health program regarding LTBI cascade of care

2) Describe the LTBI cascade of care with respect to sociodemographic, economic, immigrant, medical and interprovincial characteristics

3) Increase the detection, provincial referral, linkage to care including medical evaluation, treatment initiation and completion of LTBI treatment in higher TB risk migrants to Canada

4) Assess the impact of LTBI care uptake linked to immigration and assess the efficiency, feasibility of LTBI screening and incremental impact beyond current practice.

The Supplier must undertake data collection and reporting with aggregate data reports being sent to PHAC. 

Data to be collected, as indicated within the Cascade of Care within the project plan, includes:

Attended surveillance appointment (including date)

Completed LTBI assessment (including date)

LTBI drug treatment offered (including date)

LTBI treatment initiated (including date)

LTBI treatment (i.e. type of LTBI drug treatment)

LTBI treatment completion (including date)

Reason for incomplete cascade of care (when applicable)

Active TB diagnosis (including date)
