Notice is hereby given that Interior Health Authority (the "Health Authority"), through their agent Provincial Health Services Authority ("PHSA"), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide Biotyper Maldi-Tof System at an estimated value of $267,080.00.

PHSA, as agent for the Health Authority(s) has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason
· to ensure compatibility with existing products/systems, exclusive rights, copyright/patent rights, or to sustain specialized products that must be maintained by the manufacturer or its representative
The Interior Health Authority has standardized to one platform across their microbiology departments for the identification of microorganisms to ensure consistent laboratory standards are maintained and ensure reporting of results are consistent throughout the Health Authority. In addition, the equipment allows the laboratory to maintain optimization of work flow while allowing the health authority to report accurate results. Due to the size of the East Kootenay Regional Hospital laboratory if samples need to be transferred to another larger site within the Interior Health Authority it imperative that all laboratories retain the same platform and standardization of reporting of patient results in order to report consistent results.
Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Kylie Burrage, Buyer, by email before 12:00pm Pacific Time, January 25, 2021. PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
