The City of Grande Prairie is requesting proposals from qualified, and specialized firms with proven experience in Bike Skills Park design and development. The successful proponent will provide detailed design services based on expertise, prior experience and community stakeholder input along with project management, tender specifications, construction supervision, post construction / warranty services and project close out.
Scope of Work
The proponent is to review the available information and proceed quickly into detailed design on a reduced time frame in order to achieve the goal of full project delivery in 2021.
The services to be provided for the program shall include but not be limited to:
Engage the public / focus groups and present emerging trends / opportunities for riders.
Include features specifically designed to progressively develop skills of riders from beginner to advanced and provide inclusivity for all age groups
Explore opportunities for the specific elements within the Bike Skills Park: Pump tracks, dirt jumps, progressive drops, skinny’s, flow trails, slopestyle trails (as terrain permits), beginner tracks.
Ensure the Bike Skills Park uses a combination of innovative natural features and/or man-made/pre-engineered features that are designed/engineered for the safe progression of skills and consideration of rider safety.
Include features that will be easily maintained/sustained by City staff.
Provide a maintenance plan that includes training.
Incorporate design features and consider construction methods that will have minimal impact to the natural environment within the Bike Skills Park and adjacent areas.
Provide detailed construction specifications and design drawings to the City Procurement Department for the issuance of the Tender.
Provide construction supervision, post construction / warranty services and project close out.
