The project will deliver a Labour and Immigration - Training for Work (TFW) program, Integrated Training (IT) further described in policy guidelines . The intent is a competency-based occupation-related training program intended to provide unemployed or marginally employed adult Albertans with a unique blend of occupation-related skills, work experience placement(s), employability and/or essential skills and applied academics. The project requires working with Employers identified in the sectors listed above to provide relevant technical and professional skills training necessary to become employed in targeted occupations.
The length of the training will be tailored in conjunction with the identified sector requirements and skill gaps identified and will not exceed 26 weeks. Training should not duplicate existing programs already available to the public. Additionally, training must not lead into further training as program is intended to address skill gaps and lead to full time sustainable employment. Training delivery will be innovative and demonstrate timely methods in training unemployed Albertans. Programs that support indenturing of designated trade occupations, will not be considered in the scope of this RFP.
