Description

There are currently two boarded outdoor rinks in the City, both located within the Pineview Neighbourhood. This project would create a boarded outdoor rink on the Southfort side of the Highway. This project follows the 2008 Recreation Master Plan and adds park amenities into the Southfort Neighbourhood.

This project would construct an outdoor rink with hard surface for ball hockey / basketball summer use. Project includes rink lighting, boards, surface, and support building. This project has been a part of the Capital Plan since 2015, but was on hold until the Southfort Meadows residential development reached the rink location. With the design and construction of Southfort Meadows Stage 6 to be complete this year the project is now moving forward. Design and planning is to be complete in 2021 with construction occurring in the spring/summer of 2022.
