Description

Notice of Intent to procure one (1) Wachs Compact Valve Maintenance Trailer.

The City of Nanaimo operates and maintains separate water distribution, sewage collection and storm drain systems covering over 90km2 of urban area, providing service to over 100,000 residents. As part of the maintenance program for these systems, valves are exercised periodically to ensure their reliable operation under emergency conditions, and to identify assets requiring replacement. Currently, this is a manual process. The City is seeking to improve the performance of the valve exercising program by moving to a trailer mounted valve turner.
