Description

Cowichan Tribes is located in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, BC. Cowichan IR#1 is primarily located within the floodplain of the Cowichan and Koksilah Rivers. Cowichan Tribes experienced a 1 in 50 to 70 year flood event in 2020 and another 1 in 10 to 20 year flood event in 2021.

Many homes were impacted by these floods. This request-for-proposal (RFP) is for Phase I - flood hazard condition assessment and provision of preliminary design to raise the MHFE for 10-houses above the 200-year flood elevation. These works to be led by professional consulting engineer(s) and/or architect(s) and includes:

· assessing the flood hazards unique to each residence,
· condition assessments of existing houses,
· preliminary designs to lift the homes, and
· provision of a summary report with Class B cost estimates.
