Description

Request for information for a Traveller Information software/system and Implementation.

Ontario 511 is the Ministry’s public facing service for Traveller Information. An effective traveller information service can increase traveller mobility, reduce travel delays and increase the safety of our roads. This is accomplished by providing the traveller with the best information in order to plan new trips or to adapt plans around service changes, and while en-route, to help the traveller navigate obstacles such as collisions, congestion, changing road conditions or work zones.

It is a Ministry priority to be a world leader in moving people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably to support a globally competitive economy and a high quality of life. Improving public safety, enhancing the travellers experience, and increasing public confidence are vital components of any plan that the Ministry would consider towards improving the delivery of traveller information

The primary goal of this RFI is to seek value-added input and information about the current and future market capabilities for the delivery of the Ministry’s Ontario 511 Traveller Information service.
Scope of Work
Ontario 511 services will continually improve to provide safe and efficient traveller information, through a personalized, mobile customer experience.
Innovations in technology and service delivery will keep the service current and meet the ever demanding and increasing needs of travellers.
Service delivery will include, but is not limited to, customer access through:
• Website that offers a responsive, mobile-friendly experience
• Mobile app
• Integrated Voice Response (IVR) telephone service
• Social Media channels
