2021010243 - Heat pump system for UBC Bioenergy Research Demonstration

The University of British Columbia (UBC) is inviting interested parties to participate in the procurement process for the provision of Heat Pump System for UBC Bioenergy Research Demonstration Facility (BRDF).

Below is more detailed Information about the work:

· The installation of one (1) heat pump system connected to new heat recovery economizer systems in the BRDF plant. One economizer recovers heat from the exhaust gases from the outlet of the HRSG engine (the HRSG economizer). The second system recovers heat from the exhaust gases from the Biomass Gasification system (the Biomass economizer). Each economizer consists of a first stage which recovers sensible heat directly into the return side of UBC's hot water District Energy System (DES), and a second stage which also recovers latent heat. These second stages will connect to the evaporator side of the proposed heat pump, which in turn will connect to the DES on the condenser side. The new heat pump will be located outside the BRDF facility.
