Description

The Ministry of Government and Consumer Services and the Ministry of Health (MOH) responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by creating and the Integrated Pandemic Supply Chain Management Team, to operate a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)/Critical Supplies & Equipment (CSE) pandemic supply chain. Today, the pandemic supply chain provides PPE/CSE to all health, OPS agencies and broader public sector (BPS) entities.

The Ontario government is required to do business in accordance with the trade commitments (such as the Canadian Free Trade Agreement WTO, Ontario Quebec and CETA) and OPS Procurement Directive.

MGCS would like to explore the opportunity to leverage the expertise and purchasing power of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) to achieve the efficiencies and economies of scale that would come with this centralized approach.
Scope of Work
MGCS would like to address future PPE purchasing needs by contributing future volume requirements to group purchasing organizations, where appropriate. MGCS is considering at this point of time the possibility to join more than one group purchasing organizations.

Currently, the Ministries have been buying PPE/CSE under the following categories:
• Face Shields
• Gloves
• Gowns
• Hand sanitizer
• Hand soap
• N95s
• Spray
• Surgical masks
• Wipes
