Issued: November 9, 2023 File # PHSA 13112 NOI Title: Euroimmun Equipment VGH Autoimmune Laboratory Provincial Health Services Authority Notice is hereby given that Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (the “Health Authority”), through their agent Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide EUROBlotOne Equipment system for Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) for a one time purchase at an estimated value of $88,294.00. Euroimmun Medical Diagnostics Canada Inc. 2566 Meadowpine Blvd Mississauga, ON L5N 6P9 In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, as agent for the Health Authority has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason: • the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason: (a) due to an absence of competition for technical reasons Currently, VGH sends its samples for neuronal and autoimmune testing to an alternate laboratory that utilizes the EUROBlotOne Euroimmun system. Implementing the Euroimmun instrumentation will allow VGH to consolidate the testing at VGH Autoimmune laboratory and avoid unnecessary cost of sending the specimens out of province. It will further ensure the high quality of diagnostic tests endorsed by peer laboratories, maintain continuity in patient care, enabling direct comparisons with existing patient data, and provide diagnostics, such as those for PLA2R and cN-1A, which are exclusively provided by Euroimmun.
