The cut-off for all Tender’s RFI’s will be Friday, June 27th, 2025.
George Greenaway Elementary was originally constructed in 1975 and had additions in 1980, 1981, and 1992. The current school is a single-story building with approximately 4,300sqm floor area in total with 8 portable classrooms, a jungle gym playground, a gravel play area, a 48-stall parking lot and adjacent to the Cloverdale Ball Park.
The project is a new two-story 945 m2 14-classroom addition the existing school to house the growing need for 350 additional students. The project will be located along the northwest gravel play area and will have inclusive educational spaces, universal washrooms, staff support spaces, a traction elevator, and outdoor support facilities.
With Surrey on track to become B.C.’s largest city, its exponential growth is filling SD36 schools and the demand for public education is greater than ever. The influx of young couples and families, both locally and through immigration, is putting mounting pressure on existing school facilities. This project will provide capacity for 350 Grades K-7 students, universal washrooms and support staff facilities.
