Description

The Legislative Assembly is seeking proposals from consultants to co-create a design for a Memorial Garden on the lawn of the Legislative Precinct in front of the Parliament Buildings in Victoria, British Columbia.

Proponents must employ a certified landscape architect and must have experience creating designs for memorials, monuments or commemorations with Indigenous peoples or racialized communities in Canada and be experienced working with Canadian Indigenous communities and collaborators.

Proponents are not asked to provide design proposals or renderings for the Memorial Garden in their proposal. The design will be a joint effort between the successful Proponent, the Legislative Assembly and external Indigenous consultants.
Substantial completion of the Memorial Garden is September 2026. Some elements like artwork may be completed later.
