Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) intends to proceed with the VGH (Vancouver General Hospital) ED (Emergency Department) Expansion Enabling: ED Care Bay and MI Reading Room Optimization (the “Enabling Project”), Project Number #11141.
The contractor and estimated value of the work will be:

• Turn-Key Construction Inc. at Unit 1 - 12240 Horseshoe Way
• Estimated at $1.1M plus tax.

• The Enabling Project is to ensure continuous emergency care during the ED Expansion Project construction. The completion of the Enabling Project is critical and is a condition for the continuation of the ED Expansion work. VCH strives to deliver a renewed Emergency Department with improved emergency care capacity and anticipates the commencement of the Enabling Project before the end of June.
• Turn-Key Construction was selected as the General Contractor for the VGH ED Expansion project through a public tender and awarded the contract in 2024. The contractor has been working on site, collaborating with VGH teams, and gained substantial project understanding and experience. Having the same GC to deliver the Enabling Project will retain project valuable knowledge, optimize workflow, gain efficiency, and minimize time loss.
