Notice is hereby given that Provincial Health Services Authority (the “PHSA”), acting on its own behalf, intends to award a contract to the following supplier to provide Optune Tumour Treating Therapy Device for BC Cancer for a term of three (3) years at an estimated value of $18M for the full term.

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, on its own behalf and as an agent for the Health Authorities has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:

Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) is a therapy developed by Novocure for the treatment of newly diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme (ndGBM). Optune is a portable, noninvasive device that employs electric fields to disrupt cancer cell division through transducer arrays placed on the scalp.

PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
