City of Prince George (City) invites suppliers interested in an opportunity to providing the seasonal services of an experienced and qualified supplier to provide skating programs and services.
The City is looking for a supplier with innovative approaches to new and existing skating programs. The following are the current skating programs provided:
Adult Drop-in Hockey is open to 16 years of age and older. This non-contact hockey program offers ice time without the formalities of scorekeepers and refs.
Public Skating is designed to provide ice allocations specifically to allow recreational only ice skating for people of all ages. Hockey, Figure Skating, Speed Skating and any other sports are not allowed during these times.
School Skating
times are designated for School District 57 classes who are looking for recreational skating times during the school day. These times will be scheduled directly between the School District and the Contractor, and will offer skate rentals and a skating attendant if required. These blocks of time can be combined with more than one class with the permission of teachers and under the discretion of the Contractor. School Skating is currently arranged at either the Elksentre or the Kopar Arena as these two (2) facilities have skate rental shops.
Special Events
can be booked from outside companies for example New Year’s Day skate, and sponsored skates. Special Events will be booked at the discretion of the City, based on availability, and will be organized and run by the Successful Contractor.
The initial term of the Contract will be for a period of two (2) years with the option to extend for two (2) additional one-year terms subject to satisfactory performance as set out in Schedule A - Contract.
This Request for Expression of Interest (RFEOI) is intended to identify Respondents with a serious interest and basic expertise in relation to this opportunity. All Respondents who submit a submission in response to this RFEOI will be invited to participate in any subsequent RFP (or ITT) process, if the City proceeds with an RFP (or ITT) in relation to this opportunity. Conversely, the City anticipates that only Respondents who have submitted a submission in response to this RFEOI will be invited to participate in any RFP (or ITT) process, again, if the City proceeds with that process.
