AFNWA-08-11-2025 - Construction and Takeout Financing

The Atlantic First Nations Water Authority (AFNWA) is a First Nations owned nonprofit organization incorporated under the Canada Not for Profit Corporations Act on July 18, 2018. With a service approach based on social, economic, and environmental outcomes, AFNWA is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and capital upgrades of all water and wastewater assets in participating First Nations communities within Atlantic Canada. AFNWA applies First Nations traditional knowledge and culture emphasizing environmental stewardship, the spiritual aspects of water, and Two–Eyed Seeing. The mission of AFNWA is to provide safe, clean drinking water and wastewater in all participating First Nations communities in Atlantic Canada, delivered by a regional water authority owned and operated by First Nations. AFNWA strategic goals are to support long term self-governance, improve service delivery, ensure effective governance and fiscal sustainability of the AFNWA and to integrate First Nation culture and tradition and realize aspirations to achieve self-determination.

This Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is an invitation by AFNWA to prospective proponents to submit a proposal for Construction and Takeout Financing for the Corporate Headquarters in Millbrook Power Center, as further described under RFP Particulars (the “Deliverables”).
