Description

IDRC seeks a team of consultants to evaluate IDRC’s contributions to building leading organizations in a range of fields of development research.

IDRC is in the middle of a strategic plan period, which started in 2015 and goes to 2020. The

Strategic Plan

includes three objectives, the second of which states that IDRC will

build the leaders of today and tomorrow . “Leaders” in research for development include individuals, organizations and networks who undertake research, as well as those involved in the pathways through which research influences development. They span multiple sectors: research, government, private sector, civil society, and media, among others. Leadership is something that builds and develops over time, leading us to consider these actors both in their immediate roles, and also their longer-term engagements with research, knowledge use, and development. As such, leadership is about results in the present, and sustainability into the future. At mid-point in this strategic period, IDRC’s Policy and Evaluation Division is commissioning a cross-program evaluation of selected strategies and results in this broad topic of building leaders.
