Grande Cache is located in the Municipal District of Greenview, nestled along the foothills of the Canadian Rocky Mountains in western Alberta. Remotely located, Grande Cache is home to one of the world’s last untouched wilderness regions. The picturesque community of Grande Cache was built along a mountain plateau, located 4200 feet above ocean level, surrounded by 21 mountain peaks, 2 river valleys and pristine boreal forest.
The land on which Grande Cache is situated, is the Treaty 8 area and is the traditional area of the Aseniwuche Winewak Nation. It is also the traditional meeting ground, gathering place, travelling routes and home to many Indigenous peoples. There are currently 6 Aboriginal Communities that occupy a total of 4,150 acres of land in and around Grande Cache.
The MD of Greenview is currently accepting quotes for the removal and reconstruction of a retaining wall, located on the North West side of the Grande Cache Curling Rink, at the Grande Cache Recreation Centre.
Greenview request the provisions of a comprehensive proposal using the details and scope contained in the scope of work and additional proposal requirements. The scope of work describes the desired minimum specification of the work.
BACKGROUND
The RFQ retaining wall requires geotechnical study, survey and design of the retaining wall. The existing retaining structure is currently collapsing. The land that the retaining wall is currently holding back is shared with Grande Yellowhead Public School Division. Due to erosion, construction and settling, the retaining wall collapsing westward towards the existing structure.

CALL FOR QUOTATION
The MD of Greenview requests interested parties to submit a Request for Quotation (hereinafter referred to as ‘RFQ’) – Grande Cache Curling Rink Retaining Wall as referred to in Section 2.0. All interested parties shall submit two (2) hard copies in a sealed package, of their entire proposal by the decision date of September 26, 2019 with an email copy sent by September 26, 2019.
