Alberta Parks owns and operates a water treatment plant and waterworks system at Elkwater, AB, providing potable water to the town site as well as the park and campground facilities. One of the existing water reservoirs in the town site is aging and in need of replacement. This 840 cu.m. Reservoir originally built in 1965 will be removed and replaced with a new water tower and pump house. As the existing reservoir is located in an area that is subject to ground movement, a more suitable site has been established for the construction of the new replacement structures. GENIVAR Consultants Limited Partnership was retained in 2010 and completed a geotechnical investigation and prepared detailed designs and specifications for the proposed above ground water reservoir and pump house in 2011.
Alberta Parks is now seeking Proposals from qualified Proponents to provide design and construction administration services to advance the reconstruction plans in accordance with the requirements outlined in this RFP. Following the processes outlined in this RFP; the successful Proponent will work with the Province to review the 2011 design and provide a new and revised detailed design and tender so as to implement and achieve the end result desired by the Province.
The purpose of this RFP is to invite Proposals from suitably qualified Proponents who demonstrate sufficient experience and qualification to provide detailed redesign, secure approvals, update geotechnical report, meet new AEP Approval requirements and standards, prepare tender documents and perform project management and construction monitoring services for the construction of new facilities and demolition and removal of the existing facilities as identified and supported by the 2011 detailed Project Designs. The successful Proponent is to use appropriate tools and skilled resources through the Detailed Design, Approval Process, Issued for Tender and Issued for Construction, and Construction phase to achieve the end result desired by the Province.
