1002683 - ICC Pilot Program - Behind the Meter Energy Monitoring Kits

SaskPower is piloting a program to address root cause challenges of high energy use in Northern Indigenous communities. Remote northern Indigenous communities face high energy bills compared to the rest of Saskatchewan. Issues with housing, cold winters and lack of access to Saskatchewan’s natural gas grid means residents primarily use electric or alternate heat sources. Residents often struggle with high energy bills. The targeted communities are all located in Saskatchewan far north. Some can be accessed by road and some are fly in. The communities are small relative to urban centers with population ranging from 200-1000 people.  This program is part of several streams of programming SaskPower has launched looking to learn about high energy use and pilot solutions
