SaskPower is currently planning the deployment of Small Modular Reactors (SMR) in Saskatchewan. SaskNuclear, a subsidiary of SaskPower, will serve as the entity responsible for applying for and maintaining the licensing activities related to the nuclear development program. The safety and reliability of nuclear power programs depend critically on engaging qualified and competent personnel to perform their tasks and responsibilities. Personnel training programs and materials are essential for SaskNuclear to ensure that all licensing activities are conducted by trained and competent staff, such as Licence to Prepare Site (LTPS) and the Licence to Construct (LTC) for nuclear facilities. With this RFP, SaskPower intends to hire a consulting company who has experience in developing personnel training programs and materials with the key objectives to ensure all personnel are trained to comply with its management systems, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. These programs should also be designed to develop the technical competencies, necessary skills, and knowledge required by the team to carry out LTPS (License to Prepare Site) and LTC (License to Construct) activities effectively. Training programs need to be aligned with SaskNuclear’s strategic goals to enhance overall performance and efficiency.
