Hamilton Economic Development, Invest in Guelph, Toronto Global and Waterloo Economic Development Corporation each have a mandate to attract and support foreign business to establish operation in their respective geographies. In an effort to build up a strategic, proactive and coordinated approach to our collective FDI prospecting efforts for Advanced Manufacturing we are undertaking an Advanced Manufacturing and Products FDI Strategy project (focused on Automotive, Aerospace and Food & Beverage) with the support and guidance of Next Generation Manufacturing, the Advanced Manufacturing Supercluster. The purpose of the project is to develop a comprehensive strategy, or series of strategies, aimed to identify specific opportunity areas for which FDI can support or accelerate next generation product development and manufacturing within this Geography and strengthen regional supply and value chains. The project deliverables will guide the Project Partners’ collective and individual efforts to effectively target and pitch international businesses in these clusters on the Advanced Manufacturing & Advanced Product opportunities that the Geography (and sub-regional municipalities) provides for investment.
