This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Saskatchewan Power Corporation (“SaskPower”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of the SW7 138kV Transmission Line Rebuild as further described in the RFP Particulars (Appendix A) (the “ Work”).
SaskPower is a Saskatchewan Crown Corporation continued under The Power Corporation Act (Saskatchewan). It is principally responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity for most of Saskatchewan.
SaskPower is seeking new construction of approximately 17.9km of 138kV transmission line (operated at 72kV) southwest of Swift Current, Sask. This new single circuit SW7 line will be replacing a double circuit line, SW7/SW8 that has already been salvaged, and will be installed on the existing SW7/SW8 Right-of-Way. Additionally, once the new SW7 segment is built, it will need to be connected to the existing SW7 segment after disconnecting the temporary tie between SW7 and SW6. This project includes the installation of fifty-six (56) weathering steel T-70 structures, thirty-one (31) wood D14 structures, the stringing of conductor and shield wire along the new line, and the salvage of eleven (11) existing wood structures.
